About Us
Amy Hubner
I have wanted to be an educator for as long as I can remember. I was born and raised in Pekin, IL and it has been my life goal to give back to the community that helped make me who I am today. After graduating from PCHS in 1997, I went to Eastern Illinois University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education degree, with a middle school endorsement in math. After a few years of teaching in the classroom , I then pursued my Master of Science in Education with a focus on school leadership at Illinois State University.
The 2024-2025 school year marks my 23rd year in education, all of which have been in Pekin schools. I spent 19 years at Pekin Community High School where I was a math teacher, dean of students, assistant principal, and principal. I then transitioned to District 108 and spent two years as the principal at Scott Altman Primary School before moving into my current position, Coordinator of Student Services, at the district office.
As the Coordinator of Student Services I am responsible for ensuring our students have what they need to be successful both inside and outside of the classroom. I work closely with our parent liaisons, special education department, multilingual teachers, counselors, and extracurricular programs. In addition, I also work with local organizations/partnerships as they play an important role in helping our students and their families. I truly love what I do and believe I have found exactly what I am supposed to be doing.
My immediate family consists of my husband, Bryan, our twin daughters, Madison and Sydney, who will be headed off to college this fall, and our two goldendoodles, Bailey and Charlee. I am now at the point in my professional career where the parents of our students in D108 were students of mine at PCHS. I feel very fortunate to be a part of the education profession and look forward to many more years of working with the students in our community.
